"Shave your head every third sunset, and the eyebrows, as is proper; sharpen your beak every sixth; if its straps bite into your skin, well, remember it is an honor to keep the silence"

STORY NOTES:

Picture this: A friend sends you a story, then two, and both set you on fire in the best way. So you sit down at your computer, fueled by feverish compulsion, to craft your own story in response to those two.

'Death Work' is its own dark fantasy beast, but it wouldn't be here without a dear writing friend and 'Robot' by Helena Bell, or 'Girl' by Jamaica Kincaid.
